Each year, from December through April, tens of thousands of whales migrate from the cold feeding
grounds of Alaska and the North Pacific to the warm waters of the Sea of Cortez. Humpback and
gray whales arrive to breed and raise their young, often passing close to shore. It’s not unusual to
see them from the house—spouting, breaching, or moving quietly through the water—one of the
most remarkable rhythms of the season. But for a close up experience go out on the water (privately
or with a group)
